There's been an influx of restaurant openings in the past couple of months, but none of them (well the ones I know of) are offering traditional Maltese dishes. Until now.
Maltese food lovers (and newbies) rejoice because the much loved Nenu the Artisan Baker is opening a second restaurant in Mgarr (launching in the next couple of weeks).
Nenu the Artisan Baker in Valletta is one of the leading restaurants serving exemplary Maltese cuisine. Customers go especially crazy for their perfectly fluffy ftiras topped with different ingredients and their Maltese breads (cooked from a decades-old wood-fired oven).
Mggar's menu will be the same as Valletta's and is a love letter to proper Maltese gastronomy. Expect bebbux (snails), fenek (rabbit) offerings, Braġoli, aljotta, horse meat stew and other Maltese meat, fish and pasta dishes.
So whether you're a local, a tourist, a novice to Maltese food or a Nenu fan. Nenu the Artisan Baker will be waiting for you in Mgarr.
