MADU: A NEW STREET FUSION EATERY OFFERING DISHES FROM ACROSS THE WORLD

A new street fusion eatery opened its doors in St Julian's with a menu that draws inspiration from across the globe.

Truth be told, I am a bit wary when a restaurant has a large combination of plates from around the world... but the menu definitely looks nice on paper so fingers crossed!

At Madu, you'll find 'South American, enhanced by crispy Asian textures; Mediterranean coloured by the warmth of African joy; vegan and vegetarian options;' and more.

There are very affordable breakfast options which include a selection of poached eggs, eggs on toast (such as a Norwegian or English toast, both with scrambled eggs), omelettes (such as a caprese with mozzarella, tomatoes and basil) and big breakfast plates.

The Nibbles section of the menu consists of smoked poutine (tossed with gravy sauce and Applewood cheese), beef yakitori (Japanese-inspired beef and scallion skewers), halloumi fries, pork bao buns, buffalo chicken wings and seabass ceviche.

Madu will offer popular bread dishes from the Mediterranean (caprese focaccia), the Middle East (vegan sabich), USA (shrimp roll) and Malta (Ftira with pulled rabbit and gbjena), to name a few.

Bowl offerings include a carrot & ginger soup (a French and Asian fusion), Thai seafood curry, chicken chow mein, pork ramen and truffle mac n cheese.

Chimchurri prawns, hoisin duck waffle and beef brisket are just some of the dishes you can expect from the mains.

Let's hope the food tastes as good as the menu sounds.
