3 RESTAURANTS IN MALTA HAVE BEEN AWARDED A MICHELIN STAR

When Michelin first announced that they would include Malta in their Guide for the very first time, nobody anticipated that a restaurant would actually receive a star, let alone three restaurants! This is really exciting news.

What are Michelin's criteria for awarding that coveted star? Command of flavour and cooking techniques, the level of the ingredients used, value for money and the consistency between visits. Bonus points for seeing the character of the chef in each dish.

Those Michelin inspectors have certainly given credit where credit is due. Congrats, you have made Malta's food industry very proud!

I can officially announce that Malta is now home to three Michelin-starred establishments... and these include:
1

de Mondion, Mdina

Details:
situated in the grand Xara Palace, the de Mondion is owned by the Zammit Tabona family, led by head chef Kevin Bonello and his sous chef Clint Grech.

Having been to tons of Michelin restaurants worldwide, this is a prime example of what a fine dining Michelin eatery should be like. Expect the best service (no exaggeration) thanks to Nico Caruana and his talented waiting staff.

Noni, Valletta

Details: Noni has to be one of my favourite restaurants in Malta. What you'll get here is exceptional cuisine in a cosy and non pretentious atmosphere.

Chef Jonathan Brincat and his team will bend over backwards to make sure you have a memorable dining experience.

Details:
located in the super luxe Rosselli (Ax Privilege) hotel. Under Grain has not even been open for a year and it has already been making waves in the gourmet fine dining scene. The kitchen brigade do everything they can in their power to ensure all guests leave with an exceptional culinary experience.

Well deserved!
