A GOURMET JACKET POTATO EATERY HAS JUST OPENED IN MALTA

You say potato, I say potat-oh-wow!

Malta's newest (and niche) addition to the food scene comes in the form of a single-item joint offering hearty gourmet jacket potatoes. I am super excited about this and haven't been anywhere similar since I left London (where the concept is a huge hit).

The Happy Spud only opened two days ago and has already been making their punters... happy (including myself). All potatoes are beautifully baked, buttered, don crispy skin, and come brimming with toppings such as Guinness beef stew, Mexican style beef with spices, Maltese sausage or chicken tikka.

Oyster mushroom topped with truffle, tuna melt and a spud with BLT (with grated goat's cheese and pesto) are also filling options you may want to consider. If you like cheese as much as I do, the Three Cheezey includes cheddar, parmesan and gruyere cheese with garlic butter (that one was actually my favourite).

Before you complain about the prices (7-10EUR), the high-quality potatoes are most definitely filling and loaded with gourmet ingredients. These are not your average jacket potatoes.

My husband and I shared three between us and I was so full I wanted to take a shower in the fetal position, however, I happily took a food coma nap instead.

Order them via Bolt or pop over to:
