Most people living in Malta or Gozo know Patrick's as a steakhouse that's been collecting awards from left right and centre. However, did you know that they just launched a more casual tapas menu? No? Well now you do.
Patrick's Lounge - Restaurant & Steakhouse's new, affordable and creative tapas menu consists of powerful small bites that would appeal to any epicurean. So if you're in Gozo and are looking for a quick bite and gourmet small plates, I can't recommend it enough.
The chunkiest chicken lollipops were a beguiling delight and really caught my attention. The results were thrilling and my tastebuds were begging for more.
What are chicken lollipops? Think of them as refined chicken wings (which people won't be fussy about eating on a first date).
Premium minced meat, few herbs and mashed potatoes. Yes, although these are the necessary components for a cottage pie, it doesn't mean it's as easy to execute as it sounds.
Patrick's puts a luxurious spin on classic comfort food and elevates it further with a coating of truffle and toppings microgreens to the silky potatoes. No fault on my end.
The golden salt and pepper squid were an irresistible treat. The fried batter was not oily or soggy in consistency, but rather crispy and not too firm. Each bite revealed generous morsels of cephalopods, amplified by liberal amounts of salt and pepper.
The tapas menu is really pocket-friendly and the way the menu is written undersells itself. Three tapas will only cost you 18EUR and five AT 25EUR.
Believe me when I say it is more than worth it. There are so many other small plates I wanted to try but alas my gluttony led me to try the main menu also (couldn't miss out on a steak).
The tapas menu is only available Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7pm till late.
Small plates. Big flavours!
