TA' DETTA JUST OPENED IN VALLETTA OFFERING TRADITIONAL MALTESE CUISINE

Ta' Detta only opened its doors last week (October 15th to be exact) and their menu focuses on traditional Maltese cuisine, in addition to an assortment of Mediterranean fare.

Located at the Valletta Waterfront, the extensive Maltese offering from this family-run restaurant includes aljotta (Maltese fish soup), soppa tal-armla aka widow's soup (with kusksu, gbenja and poached egg), bebbux/snails (slowly stewed in local beer and wine), some traditional rabbit dishes, horse meat, summien il-forn (quails glazed with honey), stuffat tal-qarnit (slow-cooked octopus), bragioli/beef olives and more.

Meat mains include beef tagliata, chicken parmigiana, smoked duck breast with duck leg croquette and a plethora of burgers.

Fancy seafood? You'll find delights such as an oyster platter (splashed with either champagne, a bloody Mary shot or oyster mignonette), pan fried salmon, tuna tartare and ale battered cod.

Ta' Detta are also offering a pizza menu showcasing a margherita, a traditional Gozitan Ftira (with local sausage meat, bacon, potatoes, gbenja) or an Italian pizza, just to name a few (there are 11 to choose from).

I could go on as there's more to tell... but you'll just have to check it out for yourself.
