Jubilee Group to showcase Maltese food and culture at the World Expo in Japan 2025
Jubilee Group Malta, who own Cafe Jubilee and the Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant AYU in Gzira, have proudly jetted off to Japan to participate in the renowned World Expo in Osaka from April 13th – October 13th 2025.
The Maltese Pavilion at the expo will showcase a tapestry of Malta’s rich heritage and will feature a restored piece of Samurai armour, a historical piece gifted to the island in 1821 by Japanese explorers. Jubilee Group will invite guests to their pop up restaurant The Malta Table which will combine traditional Maltese cuisine with Japanese influences, created in collaboration with local and Japanese talent (including students from ITS – Institute of Tourism Studies).
The menu at The Malta Table will include different ftira options, pastizzi, ricotta ravioli, rabbit spaghetti, octopus stew with yuzu, imqaret, other Maltese dishes, and Cisk beer – all served in a setting that seamlessly blends tradition with modern innovation.
This will be the second time Osaka has hosted it since 1970.
