A 24/7 American doughnut diner is opening in Birkirkara

I've seen a trend here in Malta with burger and fast food eateries trying to outdo each other to see who can come up with the most over the top doughnut. Well, they've got real competition now because a new player is in town: a 24-hour gourmet doughnut diner.

Located in Birkirkara, the Donut Empire will offer a wide selection yeast-raised American style doughnuts that guests can enjoy whilst sitting in flashy surroundings featuring neon lights and bright pink booths... and it'll be open for 24/7.

Their unique doughnut theatre will allow diners to see the fresh doughnuts being made on the spot. The menu will feature doughnuts stuffed or topped with Kinder Bueno, Nutella, salted caramel, powdered sugar, The Simpson's style strawberry iced doughnut with sprinkles, doughnut cakes and also over the top doughnut shakes. Waffles, pancakes, hand-crafted coffee drinks will also be on the cards. 

The Donut Empire will also be dishing out an all time American favourite... the corn dog. That's not all though, expect American diner dishes such as fried chicken, philly cheesesteak, mac n cheese, bagels and more.
