You've probably heard of the Cronut, a world-famous croissant and doughnut hybrid made popular by Dominique Ansel back in 2013 (which you can get at Manouche), but have you heard of the cruffin?
I remember when the cruffin made huge waves when it launched back home in London years ago, and now this Maltese baker has ensured you can get your fix too.
The House of Flour by Paul Charles has recently introduced this gourmet croissant and muffin crossover which includes fillings such as berry jam, hazelnut chocolate and crema pasticcera (with more sweet and savoury fillings to follow).
The packaging alone is nothing short of stunning, and the cruffins, are freshly-prepared by hand, beautifully dusted, crunchy and flaky on the outside, and wonderfully soft and gooey on the inside.
I have been following The House of Flour by Paul Charles for a while because the cakes he makes look like they belong in a museum.
You can order your cruffins directly via their FB page or by phone (A box of six will cost you 11EUR), or you can head over to Ta' Doni in Rabat as they serve them everyday!
