SUNRISE: CULT HOT DOG EATERY IN SWIEQI REOPENS AFTER THREE YEARS

'Cars used to park illegally just to grab one'.
'The simplest hot dogs, but after a night out, it was like eating a hot dog sent from God'.
'The queue for these hot dogs was like the most exclusive nightclub'.

Sunrise Hot Dogs, Swieqi

The above are statements from friends when I asked them about the hype surrounding Sunrise Hot Dogs in Swieqi. After a seemingly devastating closure three years ago, Sunrise Hot Dogs are officially back in action as of today, ready to serve the island their iconic no fuss wieners that tons went crazy for.

Sunrise Hot Dogs was way before my time, so I decided to pop in to give it a try. I didn't expect anything gourmet, but hawt digity damn, they're tasty! Costing 4EUR each, you can choose onions, beans and/or cheddar cheese as toppings.

They are open everyday from 10am - 11pm for take away only, so I guess for some... it will no longer be a post-midnight guilty pleasure after a drunken night out.
