MALTA'S COOL NEW RIDE-POOLING APP WILL ONLY CHARGE YOU €4.95 PER TRIP
Lord knows tons of people on the island have been waiting for this day and here it is. A pool-riding service just launched in Malta this week and it is an absolute game-changer (some might even say it’s a lifesaver.) The best part is it’ll only cost you €4.95 per ride (yep, you read that correctly).
Just some of the areas covered include Valletta, Mosta, Qormi, San Gwann and St. Julian’s with more localities to be added in the next few months.
Here’s how it works: open the app, choose your pick up and drop-off address, once you’ve confirmed the waiting time... book your car and patiently wait for your chauffeur to arrive. You'll also get text notifications and can track your journey via the app
It automatically picks up others who are going in the same direction as you. The time of arrival depends on traffic and the number of bookings. The app shows you the estimated time before you confirm your booking and additional passengers booked by you would come with a 50% discount.
I tried it out yesterday and it does what it says on the tin, my journey from Hamrun to Kappara cost me less than five euros (my wallet and I loved it). Not only was the ride enjoyable, but I didn’t have to share it with anyone. So essentially, you can indeed ride solo too.
