THESE TWO POPULAR RESTAURANTS IN MALTA HAVE CLOSED THEIR DOORS

Malta's hospitality scene has lost two esteemed restaurants in the past week, say sayonara to SALT Kitchen & Lounge in Bugibba and Rebekah's in Mellieha. But worry not, you know what they say, when one door closes...

SALT was the brainchild of Nicky Saliba (former midfielder for Valletta City) and Chef Isaac (who trained under Exec Chef Joe Vella at the Hilton).

The praised eatery was known for its palate-pleasing and creative Mediterranean fare. They announced the closure on a Facebook post last week, stating that the restaurant will be changing ownership from 1st November.

However, you'll be pleased to know that they will continue to operate until the end of October... with the promise of a brand new venture in the future (watch this space for more info).

Rebekah's, the cosy stone-walled gem, famed for its romantic ambience and fine-dining menu, shut down the doors of their Mellieha joint and have moved over to Zurrieq (same quality, slightly different concept).

Lizza and her husband (Chef Shawn Borg) took over Cassarini Restaurant and have rebranded it as Coast (which is now open). They told me that they promise to keep the high standard of food and service that they were known for at Rebekah’s in a bigger, busier location, with a more family friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Keep your eyes peeled for follows ups!
