Salsa & Samba Street Bites to open their first Brazilian restaurant in Gzira
Salsa & Samba Street Bites have been on the local food scene since 2018 dishing out authentic Brazilian street food on the island. Not only was the street food truck the first of its kind, but their Brazilian snacks became so popular that they held residency in places like The Black Pearl, Fortizza and held stalls in many festivals. Well now, after much demand, they’re finally opening their very own restaurant and caipirinha bar located in Gzira, with a much varied menu.
Appetisers at Salsa & Samba Street Bites include cheese or chicken coxinha (Brazilian croquettes), meat, cheese or mixed pastel (a baked rectangular pastry like an empanada), pão de queijo (mini fried puffy tapioca buns), and fried cassava.
Tuck into a grilled picanha plate (for 1 or 2) involving a juicy marinated rump steak (180g or 350g), Brazilian sausage with onions, chicken hearts, a portion of two Tuscan sausages, or two chunky slices of halloumi cheese. All served with bread, fries, Brazilian farofa and vinaigrette sauce.
The sandwich section showcases a 100% picanha burger or a hot dog (Salsa & Samba style) whilst desserts feature mini churros, brigadeiro (Brazilian chocolate), or a sweet pastel stuffed with caramel or guava paste & cheese, dusted with sugar and cinnamon.
Now you know where to go for Brazilian food in Malta. Opening April 12th 2025
