What’s Open 24/7 in Malta? Here’s Where to Go

It’s 3:52am. Maybe you’ve just landed. A suspicious rash has appeared in the middle of the night and the Mater Dei queue is not something you’re emotionally prepared for right now. Perhaps you’ve run out of washing-up liquid, cat food or batteries at 1:17am. You’re a shift worker. You’re a vampire. Whatever the situation — and no judgement — Malta is quieter than you’d like it to be at this hour, but it’s not completely dark. Here’s everything that’s open 24/7 in Malta.

All information correct at the time of writing. Opening hours change. If your crisis involves pastizzi, double-check first.

Food & Drink

Is-Serkin Crystal Palace — Rabat

Photo: Lisa Marshall

One of Malta’s most iconic addresses, operating around the clock for generations. This Rabat pastizzeria has fed soldiers, farmers and partygoers without ever really making a fuss about it. Freshly baked pastizzi — ricotta, peas, chicken, anchovies — for somewhere in the region of sixty cents, eaten at a pavement table with tea served in a glass. At some point, every Maltese person, student, shift worker, taxi driver or person making questionable decisions at 2am ends up here.

CFC (Crispy Flavoured Chicken) — Qormi

Malta’s homegrown fried chicken franchise has earned its place as a genuine island favourite — and the Qormi location is the one that keeps going 24/7 when everything else has stopped. Drive-thru available. Whether it’s a late-night craving or simply the only thing that makes sense right now, CFC Qormi is there.

Talbot & Bons — Luqa

Inside SkyParks Business Centre, a few minutes from the airport terminal and open to anyone — no boarding pass required. Breakfast dishes, burgers, pasta, salads, tapas and coffee are available at all hours, which is really why it’s here. This list is about availability, not culinary excellence. At 4am, those are sometimes two very different conversations.

Supermarkets

Daves Food Stores — Various Locations

Some are larger than others, but Daves sits somewhere between a convenience store and a proper supermarket. Multiple locations across Malta including Birkirkara, San Gwann, Zurrieq, St Paul’s Bay, Gzira and St Julian’s, all open 24/7. You can also order through Wolt for delivery if that’s more appropriate given the hour.

SPAR/Express — Various Locations

Several SPAR locations run 24/7, including Valletta, Sliema, Paceville, Balluta, St Julian’s, Bugibba and Mellieha. Convenient if you need supplies at an hour when everywhere else has firmly called it a night.

24/7 Gyms in Malta

24/7 Fitness Club — Various Locations

The four locations across the island, including Ta’ Qali, San Gwann, Mellieha and Zebbug, are all open 24/7. The Ta’ Qali flagship runs across three floors with over 300 machines — one of the most well-equipped 24/7 gyms in Malta. One membership covers all four clubs, which is either very convenient or a commitment you’ll make at midnight and think about in the morning.

Club Treign — St Julian’s

A boutique 24/7 gym inside Mercury Towers, St Julian’s, founded by a doctor and water polo player. Technogym equipment throughout, personal training, an in-house nutritionist, and two hours of complimentary parking. Mercury Towers was probably always going to get a gym that takes itself seriously.

Body Medics Fitness Club 24/7 — Zejtun

A well-established 24/7 fitness club in the south of the island, with a full equipment setup and personal training on offer. Newly upgraded facilities, and a solid option if you’re based in that part of Malta and need a gym that genuinely never closes.

24-Hour Pharmacy in Malta

Remedies Campus Hub — Msida

Malta’s first and only 24-hour pharmacy. Open around the clock Monday to Friday, until midnight on Saturdays — with a drive-thru service running from 8:30pm to 7am on weeknights, and from 7pm to midnight on Saturdays. You stay in the car. That’s the whole point.

Located at Campus Hub near Mater Dei, staffed through the night by an actual pharmacy team. Given that pharmacies in Malta operate on hours that assume nothing will ever go wrong on a Saturday afternoon, and that the alternative is Mater Dei, the existence of a 24/7 drive-thru pharmacy in Malta is information worth having. File it away. Tell someone who needs it.
