Dinner in the City: Chef Letizia Vella Brings an Exclusive Outdoor Dining Experience to ST Andrew’s Bastions, Valletta
It’s not every day one of Valletta’s historic bastions becomes the setting for dinner… fortunately, nobody seems to have told Chef Patron Letizia Vella.
Long before she rose to prominence through her stint as a judge on MasterChef Malta, she was one of the chefs who generously gave up her time to cook at one of my charity events. I’ve jokingly called her Beauty and the Beast ever since. Beauty, well for obvious reasons and Beast, because once she steps into a kitchen, she is an absolute force.
Now the chef behind the Michelin-recommended The Golden Fork is taking things outdoors for one evening only.
On 26th July, just 30 guests will gather around a single table at St Andrew’s Bastions for Dinner in the City — an exclusive al fresco fine dining experience featuring a refined six-course menu with paired wines, accompanied by live jazz from Nadine Axisa.
With panoramic views over the Grand Harbour and Valletta’s historic skyline, St Andrew’s Bastions is one of those locations that barely needs decorating. The setting is spectacular, but if you’ve eaten Letizia’s food before, you’ll know the menu is likely to be the real reason to go.
