Just Walk App: You Did the Steps. Now Where’s Your Reward?
Just Walk turns everyday movement into real-world rewards, and it’s looking for more of Malta’s independent restaurants, cafés and shops to give people somewhere worth walking to.
Your phone has been counting your steps for years. Very diligent of it. Until now, its main contribution has been informing you that you walked 7,436 steps on Tuesday and apparently expecting applause. Just Walk has a more useful idea: make them worth something.
Launched today (9 September), the local app turns the movement already happening in your day into real-world rewards. Rewards start from as little as 2,000 steps, depending on the offer, and anything you don’t use goes into your step bank for another day. No need to suddenly become a person who owns seventeen pairs of Lycra leggings and discusses their resting heart rate at dinner. You walk. Your phone notices. Things unlock. Simple.
So, what do you actually get?

Rewards vary by business and step threshold. That might mean something to eat or drink, money off a treatment, a retail discount or another offer from one of the brands on the platform.
There’s no subscription or monthly fee for users, and your phone is already keeping track of your steps. Just Walk essentially gives all that wandering around Malta somewhere productive to go.
You can download the app on Android or from the Apple App Store.
But there are two sides to this particular pavement. Just Walk needs people walking, obviously. It also needs somewhere worth walking to.
Consider this a casting call for Malta’s independent restaurants, cafés and shops:

Just Walk already has businesses across food, retail, wellness, fitness and sport, including The Convenience Shop, Starbucks, Eatwell, Joli Salad Bar, Myoka Spa, Lucy Makeup Store, Brown’s Pharmacy, Decathlon and more.
But there’s room for more independents. The neighbourhood restaurant doing something genuinely interesting. The coffee shop people cross town for. The bakery responsible for permanently ruining supermarket pastries for you. The bar you reluctantly recommend because you quite enjoyed being able to get a table there.
Just Walk wants them too.
The idea isn’t to become an endless directory where every business with a front door and a card machine gets thrown into the same digital bucket. Partners are selected and the roster is deliberately curated.
So, how does it work for you?
You choose your own reward, the number of steps needed to unlock it, any minimum spend and the terms.
Someone unlocks your offer and has a reason to choose your business. They might come in for the reward and stay for lunch, add another drink, bring a friend or discover somewhere they hadn’t considered before. You also get reporting on redemptions, new customers and repeat visits. Actual behaviour, rather than being told thousands of people may or may not have noticed your logo while scrolling Facebook on the toilet.
And the first 90 days are free
New partners can currently try Just Walk free for 90 days, with no setup or monthly fee. Create an offer, see what gets redeemed and look at the numbers. After that, stay if it works for you. Leave if it doesn’t. No grand declaration of eternal loyalty required.
So if you run one of Malta’s restaurants, cafés, bars, shops or independent businesses and think you’re worth a few extra steps, Just Walk is looking for you. Your customers are already walking. Give them somewhere worth walking to. You can contact the team at info@justwalk.club.
