Around Asia in Eight Dinners: Saigon Launches Its Dining Passport

If travelling through Asia isn’t on the cards for the foreseeable future, for reasons that are frankly none of my business, Saigon has come up with a considerably lower-commitment alternative. No airport queues, baggage allowances or the indignity of removing your shoes for security. Just eight Asian-inspired meals, a Thursday evening, your appetite, and a willingness to let your dinner do the travelling.

Starting 1 October 2026, Saigon Gzira is launching The Passport: eight themed dinners, eight Asian countries and a digital passport collecting stamps along the way. Every other Thursday, the kitchen turns its attention to a different destination, serving a three-course menu for €26.50 per person.

There’s an incentive to keep collecting stamps, too. Attend six of the eight dinners and you’ll receive a complimentary dinner for two, plus a Vietnamese coffee hamper to take home.

Thailand gets the first stamp on 1 October, with corn fritters, tom yum goong and beef massaman with jasmine rice. Malaysia follows on 15 October, bringing prawn fritters, soto ayam and beef rendang. Korea follows on 29 October with Korean corn dogs, Indonesia on 12 November with sate chicken skewers, Singapore on 26 November with salt and pepper crab, Sri Lanka on 10 December with devilled prawns, and the Philippines on 7 January with chicken adobo. Vietnam closes the itinerary on 21 January 2027 with lemongrass beef skewers. Full menus for those later destinations will be announced closer to their respective dates.

The passport itself is digital and takes just a moment to set up. Simply fill in your details here, book your chosen Thursday and show your QR code at the restaurant. Your server scans it, and another stamp joins the collection. No paperwork, no frantic search for a pen.
