Brazilian Rodizio Is Coming to Gzira, and the Meat Is Unlimited
Rodizio has never been especially interested in portion control. Traditionally, marinated cuts of meat are threaded onto skewers and kept in rotation, with different cuts making their way around the room and often being carved tableside.
On 4 October, The Spot by Brazilian chef Thais Sampaio, a small, slightly hidden joint in Gzira, is putting on a one-day all-you-can-eat rodizio for €40 per person.
The whole point is to work your way through as much of the line-up as appetite allows: picanha, beef rump, beef tagliata, chicken hearts, chicken wings, Toscana sausage and pork steak, alongside halloumi and garlic bread. Sides run to rice, beans, farofa, chips, salad, vinaigrette, fried banana and potato salad.
There are two two-hour sittings, from 1pm to 3pm and 6:30pm to 8:30pm, with reservations made directly with the restaurant.
If meat sweats usually arrive as a warning, consider this one advance notice.
