From Candles to Coffee: NemNem Opens Its Conservatory Café in Ta’ Qali
Chances are you’ve walked into a beautifully furnished home, an interiors showroom or a particularly well-dressed office in Malta and encountered a NemNem candle. Those distinctive handcrafted cubes and spheres, often decorated with intricate patterns inspired by traditional Maltese tiles, are the sort of objects that make you wonder whether you’re actually supposed to light them.
Well, the Maltese brand has now decided to turn its attention from what sits on the table to what gets served on it.

NenNem Café officially opened today at MANI Centre in Ta’ Qali Artisan Village, bringing breakfast, lunch, freshly baked pastries and cocktails into the brand’s expanding world of design and lifestyle.
And the surroundings have been given some attention. The café occupies a bright, glass-roofed conservatory with black metal framing, hanging lanterns, plenty of greenery, green upholstered banquettes and terrazzo tables. It’s an inviting, garden-like space with a distinctly considered aesthetic.

On the food front, breakfast is served from 8am until noon, with freshly baked sweet and savoury viennoiserie alongside the kitchen menu. Expect avocado and poached egg croissants (€10), spiced yoghurt with poached eggs and fried flatbread (€12), a full English breakfast (€16), and a selection of pancakes, waffles and French toast for those whose mornings require something sweeter.
Lunch takes over from noon until 4pm, with dishes including butter bean hummus with salsa verde and homemade crackers (€12), buffalo chicken sliders with kimchi and harissa (€16), homemade gnocchi with local ricotta (€16), casarecce with Maltese sausage and pumpkin (€16), and slow-cooked beef short rib with chive polenta (€30).
Desserts include an apple tarte tatin for sharing, local honey and lemon tart, and dark chocolate royal with salted caramel.
As for drinks, NemNem will be serving specialty coffee using Saquella Coffee under its own private label, alongside cocktails, local beer and wine.
It’s quite a departure for a brand best known for making beautiful things to place around the house, but the move into hospitality brings another dimension to NEMNEM’s growing presence in Ta’ Qali.
Not quite the usual next move for a candle company. But here we are.
Opened today.
