London and Spain’s Plant-Based Café Plant Shack Is Opening in Ta’ Xbiex

Plant-based food still has an image problem. Mention it and somewhere, someone who eats meat immediately starts wondering whether they’re about to be served a leaf and asked to call it dinner. Plant Shack is trying to make that reaction look increasingly outdated.

Plant Shack, the international superfood café and juice bar with locations in London’s Shoreditch, Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante and Mallorca, is opening on the Ta’ Xbiex waterfront in November 2026.

Everything on the menu is plant-based, but the emphasis is less on labels and more on colourful, health-focused food, cold-pressed juices and the sort of ingredient list that reads like a wellness retreat and a health-food shop got locked in a room together. of course there’ll also be speciality coffee.

Superfood Bowls

Its signature açaí bowls will be among the mainstays, alongside the Snickers Bowl, made with peanut butter, banana and cacao.

Sandwiches, Salads Toasts & Wraps

If you’re coming in hungry, there’s a Vegan BLT with homemade tempeh bacon and a Caesar Wrap with cashew parmesan, tofu chicken and homemade Caesar dressing to wrap your lips around. And yes, meat-eaters should survive the experience perfectly well.

Smoothies, Juices & Coffee

Cold-pressed juices will be made in-house, while the smoothie list is considerably more intentional than throwing every vaguely tropical fruit into a blender and hoping for the best. Expect superfoods including ashwagandha, maca, chlorella and spirulina, each presumably there to make your body feel slightly more organised than the rest of your life.

There’ll also be protein-focused options such as the Post Workout smoothie, packing 30g of protein, alongside speciality coffee.

Plant-based, international, waterfront, juicy, caffeinated and apparently very serious about spirulina. Ta’ Xbiex is about to get significantly greener.

Opens in November.
