From London to Malta: EL&N London Has Landed
From London to Malta, with a bit of international in between… just like me.
EL&N London has officially landed on the island, more specifically in the brand new St George’s Mall in St Julian’s. And one thing I genuinely didn’t expect? The prices aren’t as fiscally offensive as I’d imagined, with quite a few brunch dishes even coming in under €10. Anyway, more on that later.
EL&N London started in Mayfair in 2017, founded by Alexandra Miller after more than a decade in luxury fashion. Since then, it’s made its way around some prime London territory, from Mayfair and Soho to Carnaby Street, Covent Garden and Westfield, before going considerably further afield. You’ll now find EL&N London scattered across Dubai, Germany, South Africa and more.

Of course, there’s a decent chance you’ve already met EL&N London without actually going to one. Its pastel interiors and patisserie have dominated social feeds for years: florals, statement installations, highly polished counters and enough pink to make Barbara Cartland look restrained.

The whole thing has the visual instincts of a fashion shoot, which makes sense given its founder’s background. But EL&N London isn’t just a pretty face posing for the camera. There’s an actual all-day dining operation behind the aesthetics, and Malta gets its own menu.
All-Day Brunch

The brunch menu takes on familiar territory, but with an EL&N twist, including Eggs Benedict, Eggs Florentine, Turkish eggs, shakshuka and avocado toast, alongside smoothie and granola bowls and French toast. And as mentioned, you’ll find quite a few of them coming in under €10.
Then there are The Melts: large cube croissants filled and topped with combinations including wild mushroom, cheese sauce and pecorino, or cheese sauce and melted mozzarella. Somewhere along the way, someone looked at the croissant and decided it needed corners. France may request a meeting.
Beyond Brunch

The Malta menu carries on through salads before getting substantially more lunch-and-dinner shaped, with burgers, beef sliders and pasta.
There’s rigatoni Bolognese, spicy tomato and burrata rigatoni, chicken and mushroom rigatoni and truffle cacio e pepe gnocchi, among others.
The Patisserie

This is EL&N London territory in its purest form. The Malta selection includes Lotus Biscoff Cheesecake, Oreo Cheesecake, Nutella & Lotus Brownie and Chocolate Fondant, alongside the wider line-up of cakes and pastries.
They are immaculate little things. The sort of patisserie where your fork briefly feels like vandalism.

On top of your coffees, flat whites and cappuccinos, you’ll also find smoothies, hot chocolates and iced creations, including White Chocolate Iced Mocha and Pistachio Iced Mocha, alongside matcha drinks.
Celebration Cakes
And if an individual slice isn’t sufficiently committed, EL&N London also does full celebration cakes for birthdays, weddings and bespoke occasions. Nutella & Coffee and Berry Fresh are among the Malta selection, with Tiramisu Cake and Dubai Pistachio Kunafa Cheesecake marked as coming soon.
EL&N London has certainly mastered the visual side of hospitality, but good lighting and a photogenic pastry counter can only get you so far. There’s a reason the name has travelled well beyond Mayfair and found itself in the pages of Vogue, Vanity Fair, Evening Standard and Metro. And now, more importantly, yours truly.
Whether the Malta outpost matches up to its counterparts elsewhere? Only time will tell. Only joking, I will tell.
